“It all started when I asked my father why do I have to go to school. He explained that it was important to get a degree because it was the only way to distinguish myself and the name that I carry. I got the chance to do something different during my medical training in Bari, Italy. There, Professor Vincenzo Traina, recognized my aspirations and supported me with a grant. Thanks to that opportunity, a new in vitro fertilization procedure was developed intracytoplasmic sperm injection (ICSI).”
